ROMI machine tools: from cycle-controlled turning to heavy-duty machining
Founded in Brazil in 1930, ROMI is a market leader in the Brazilian machinery sector. Its industrial range includes cycle-controlled lathes, horizontal and vertical CNC turning centers and machining centers. Thirteen plants and two in-house foundries provide a broad manufacturing base.
ROMI Europe is based in Reutlingen and supports projects with engineering, commissioning, training, spare parts and technical service.
ROMI cycle-controlled lathes for one-offs, repair work and small batches
A particular strength of ROMI is the breadth of the C Series. They combine CNC cycles with direct handwheel operation, making them attractive for one-offs and small batches with frequent setup changes.
C470, C570 and C670 new generation
- C470 – 240 mm center height, 1,000 mm between centers
- C570 – 290 mm center height, 1,500 mm between centers
- C670 – 340 mm center height, 2,000 mm between centers
The new generation uses Siemens Sinumerik 828D. Heavily ribbed machine beds, hardened flat and prismatic guideways and a TURCITE-coated cross slide support rigidity, damping and geometric stability.
CNC Outlet Edition for C470, C570 and C670
These three sizes are also available as preconfigured CNC Outlet Editions. The Editions combine practical equipment in recurring configurations, allowing transparent quotations and shorter decision paths. Current equipment is shown on the relevant machine page.
From compact C Series machines to heavy-duty turning
The wider range extends from C420, C510, C620, C680, C830 and C1000 to the C-H Series for large, long workpieces. Heavy-duty models handle 15 to 50 tonnes.
ROMI horizontal and vertical CNC turning centers
- GL Series – horizontal CNC turning centers for medium and high volumes, depending on version with driven tools and Y-axis
- G Series – high-torque turning centers for larger chuck and shaft parts, also available with driven tools
- VTL Series – vertical CNC turning centers for chuck parts and automated production cells
- VT Series – large vertical lathes for heavy chuck parts used in energy, mining, shipbuilding and similar industries
ROMI machining centers for 3-axis, 5-axis and long-part machining
- D Series – vertical machining centers from D600 to D1250 for production and die/mold applications
- DCM 620-5F and 620-5X – 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis machining of complex parts
- DCM 3000 – travelling-column machining center with 3,000 mm X travel and optional pendulum machining for long workpieces
ROMI and BURKHARDT+WEBER: from standard machines to customized large machining centers
BURKHARDT+WEBER has been part of the ROMI Group since 2012. The combined range therefore extends to individually configured horizontal machining centers from the MCC, MCX, MCR and MCT Series. For large and complex parts, BW adds project-specific solutions for milling, drilling, deep-hole drilling, 5-axis machining and turning.
ROMI machines at the CNC Outlet Center
ROMI machines are regularly present at the CNC Outlet Center. Available new, stock and demonstration machines can be viewed under power and, depending on the exhibit, under cutting conditions. Controls, handwheel operation and workspace can be assessed before investing.
Preselection at the CNC Outlet Center, detailed engineering by ROMI
We record the workpiece, material, quantity, machining scope and required production start and assign the task to the appropriate machine family. ROMI then defines the configuration and application and handles commissioning, training, technical service and spare parts.
Include financing and the existing machine
If required, the CNC Outlet Center can also support financing and the valuation or disposal of an existing machine tool.
