Rotary tables for multi-sided machining
Swiss manufacturer pL LEHMANN develops CNC rotary tables for milling machines and machining centers. An additional rotary or tilting axis allows several workpiece faces to be machined in the same setup. This can reduce reclamping and improve access to holes, faces and contours from different directions.
Whether you are upgrading an existing machine or equipping a new machining center, we work with LEHMANN to select the rotary table and workholding for your parts.
The LEHMANN rotary table range
Series 500 PGD with gear drive
Series 500 PGD combines a preloaded gear drive with modular construction. The combiFLEX modular system allows different axis configurations to be assembled and adapted as requirements change.
- Single-axis rotary tables: EA-507, EA-510, EA-520 and EA-530 models add a fourth axis to the machine.
- Two-axis tilting rotary tables: TIP, TAP and TOP configurations combine a rotary and a tilting axis for multi-sided machining.
- Multi-spindle rotary tables: M2 and M3 configurations accommodate several workpieces for recurring machining tasks.
Series 900 DD with direct drive
Series 900 DD direct-drive tables support higher rotational speeds and applications such as high-speed milling and combined milling and turning. Grinding and power skiving are also possible with a suitable machine configuration. We clarify the application limits with LEHMANN using your workpiece and planned operations.
Workholding matched to the part
Workholding options include faceplates, chucks, collets and the ripas zero-point clamping system. Tailstocks and support bearings support longer workpieces or fixture bridges. The modular rotoFIX fixture bridge system can accommodate several parts or fixtures on a rotary axis.
Retrofitting a fourth or fifth axis
For a retrofit, we assess workspace, table load capacity and tool access. Integration with the CNC control is equally important. Together with LEHMANN and the machine manufacturer, we clarify the required drives, cables and control options.
For indexed machining, the workpiece is positioned before cutting. Simultaneous 5-axis machining requires coordinated movement of the machine and rotary axes. The available operating mode depends on the rotary table, CNC control and machine configuration.
Automation with ROTOMATION
The ROTOMATION transferBox automates workpiece handling inside a suitable machining center. Combined with a CNC rotary table, it enables small parts to be machined without an additional robot cell beside the machine. The machine CNC controls the sequence. We assess suitability against your parts and existing machine.
View LEHMANN rotary tables at the CNC Outlet Center
LEHMANN usually has rotary tables and systems on display at the CNC Outlet Center. You can examine their construction, workholding options and access to the workpiece. We confirm the available exhibits and demonstration scope before your visit.
Select the machine and rotary table together
When purchasing a new machine, we consider additional axes during machine selection. For a retrofit, we need the machine model, year, CNC control and a description of your parts. We then prepare a quotation with LEHMANN for the appropriate configuration.
Clarify the complete scope of supply
Alongside the rotary table, we consider workholding, mechanical mounting, electrical integration and commissioning. Prices and the delivery date are confirmed for the quotation.
Technical support and service
We coordinate integration and commissioning with LEHMANN and the responsible machine service provider. LEHMANN offers spare parts, repairs, overhauls and technical training for its rotary tables.
