Coordinate metrology for the lab and shop floor
Based in Kleinostheim, MORA Metrology develops coordinate measuring machines and INCA3D measurement software for industrial quality assurance. Its range extends from compact shop-floor systems to machines for large components.
Whether inspecting individual parts or running repeat inspections, the machine must suit your components, tolerances and workflow. We help you choose the measuring range, probing system and software in consultation with MORA.
The MORA measuring machine range
Primus bridge-type CMMs
- Primus – versatile coordinate measuring machines for prototypes and production parts. Air bearings and granite axes provide the basis for accurate measurement.
- Primus L and Primus GT – larger measuring volumes for large components; Primus GT uses a gantry design.
- Primus HA – for demanding accuracy requirements, with a fixed bridge, moving measuring table and closed-frame construction.
Column-type CMMs for large components
- Profi Pro – for large workpieces, including sheet-metal and car-body components. The measuring range can be adapted to the application.
Shop-floor coordinate measuring machines
- Pico – CNC-controlled measuring machines with an accessible granite table and temperature compensation for production inspection.
- Mini Pico – compact shop-floor measuring machines with protected guideways and temperature compensation; no compressed-air supply is required.
Optical measuring systems
- Trafo – an optical measuring table for non-contact workpiece measurement.
Tactile measurement: touch-trigger probing and scanning
MORA bridge-type CMMs support various Renishaw probing systems, including the TP20 touch-trigger probe and SP25 scanning probe. Articulating heads allow probing from different directions. The choice of head, probe and change rack depends on the features being inspected and access to the workpiece.
INCA3D software for measurement programming and evaluation
With INCA3D, you create measurement programs for your parts. Depending on the software package, offline programming lets you prepare them without occupying the machine. The software evaluates the measured data, compares features against specified dimensions and tolerances or CAD data, and documents results in inspection reports. Statistical evaluation supports repeat inspections. INCA3D works with manual and CNC-controlled measuring machines.
Choosing a measuring machine for your inspection tasks
Alongside part dimensions, consider accuracy requirements, workpiece weight, fixturing and available inspection time. Installation conditions also matter: a machine in a temperature-controlled metrology lab faces different conditions from one on the shop floor.
We discuss these requirements with you and MORA, then define a quotation covering the measuring range, probing system, software and commissioning services.
See MORA measuring machines at the CNC Outlet Center
A MORA measuring machine is permanently available for demonstration at the CNC Outlet Center. We show the complete measurement process, from fixturing and aligning the part through software operation to measurement and evaluation. Depending on the equipment, we demonstrate touch-trigger probing or tactile scanning, then explain how the software evaluates and reports the results. No previous experience in coordinate metrology is required to follow the demonstration.
Arrange a demonstration with your part
By prior arrangement, we can demonstrate the process using a part from your own production. Send us a drawing or CAD data and the features to inspect. Together with MORA, we plan the demonstration around your inspection task and the machine’s equipment.
Advice, commissioning and service
The CNC Outlet Center supports selection and enquiries. MORA handles the technical specification and offers installation, calibration, maintenance, repairs and spare parts. Machine control training is available at MORA or at your premises.
Retrofit options for existing CMMs
Modernisation may offer an alternative to replacement. MORA provides hardware and software retrofits, including suitable third-party machines following technical assessment. The choice depends on your existing equipment and future measurement requirements.
