Japan 1898: Eichii Okuma was faced with a difficult choice. In his efforts to sell noodle-making machines, the Japanese entrepreneur could either compromise by accepting the limitations of the machinery available, or he could set out to explore new technological horizons. He chose the latter. The first successfully sold machines laid the groundwork for the multi-national corporation that bears our founders name to this day. More than a century after making the jump to manufacturing machine tools, Okuma’s state-of-the-art CNC products are used around the world to produce high-quality components for demanding industries such as aerospace and automotive.
